Using global textiles to create accessories, and bespoke seating perfect for resting boho bottoms.

Hi, I'm Hannah.  I live in Hampshire, in the beautiful South of England, it is a stunning part of the world but I also love to travel to far away places and go on adventures.  When I travel, I love to shop and bring treasures from those trips back with me into our home, surrounding myself with pieces which evoke happy memories or accessorising my outfits with unique items each with their own story to tell.

I started upholstery a few months after having twins.  The evening classes hammering away at a vintage piece of furniture became a source of escapism for me, allowing me to transfer my identity from just being a Mum into something different and creative. Finding many traditional upholstery fabrics uninspiring, I started to experiment with using alternative textiles to cover furniture and soon found myself returning from trips to Morocco laden with beautiful fabrics to cover pieces with.

The thing about upholstery is, there is a lot of wasted fabric, and so I also started to create a line of bags and accessories with excess materials and trimmings.

Today, Seat Threads specialises in those bags, along with ottomans which are hand made to order ensuring that you get the perfect size and fabric for your home.  There is nothing factory made here, the footstool feet are all individual pieces in their own right, reclaimed from vintage tables.   I can then help you source the fabric that is right for your home, or upholster your piece with one of my fabrics, so that you too can rest your feet upon a little piece of sunshine.
